How To Stretch A Point 14 x 20" watercolour (framed 21.5 x 27.5")

CA$2,800.00

Also available as an Art Print in my RedBubble Shop.

The concept for this painting came from one of my Inktober sketches, specifically October 26, 2018, the prompt being “stretch”. It began as a thumbnail on a small post-it note which I then interpreted as a loose ink drawing in a sketchbook gifted to me by my friend Julie. I recently revisited this collection of Inktober sketches of mine and decided to turn them into paintings. I love the play on words of “How To Stretch A Point”, the whimsical idea that someone could stretch a point so far that it goes full circle and points back at them. The render is classical, with a twist, making full use of super-granulating watercolour pigments contrasting with transparent delicate tones of the female figure. This is a pure watercolour painting: all whites are the whites of the paper, no white paint was used. This artwork is for someone who loves and appreciates thought-provoking imagery with an inspirational mood. Ideal artwork for any living or working space. Reference model Emily Ravary.

This painting was shown in the Women’s Art Society of Montreal (WASM) exhibit “Women in Nature” at Galerie Gora, May 2023. It has been framed in a classical style, with an acid-free matte, a superb Italian gold leaf frame and high quality acrylic ‘glass’ for safe shipping.

Watercolour, 14 x 20”, framed size is approximately 21.5 x 27.5”, painted with professional light-fast pigments on 100% cotton paper.
