This is an original pastel drawing I did of an American Tree Sparrow on toned grey paper. The perky sparrow is bathed in the soft light of early winter, buff in colour and in posture, feathers fluffed up, giving the impression of a fluffy bundle of feathers, hence the title, “Buff Fluff”. I used Pitt pastel pencils on this piece, lightly blended to enhance the moment. The reference photo I used with permission is by Guy Trudel, a wonderful photographer of birds and other wildlife in the Montreal area. This drawing is for someone who loves birds, and common birds in particular, and a source of inspiration and contemplation. Ideal artwork for any living or working space it is a reminder that the natural world is all around us.

Soft pastels, 8 x10", drawn with artist grade materials on Winsor & Newton toned gray acid-free pastel paper. The drawing is signed by me, JC Little, on the front and has the title and date on the back. I will include a certificate of authenticity with this drawing. It will be packaged with an archival sleeve, with stiff cardboard backing on both sides, and bubble wrap mailer. To avoid waste, where ever possible I will re-use mailers and other packaging materials. It’s recommended to frame it behind glass, with an acid-free matte, to preserve the drawing from deterioration. Display away from direct sunlight.
