This is an ink drawing I did of a juvenile Blue Heron on toned gray paper. The awkward teenager is perched on a branch, standing on one leg, known as rete mirabile; one leg is tucked up under its feathers to conserve heat. This stance along with the quizzical expression makes for an interesting and rather amusing bird study. I used black Microns, a Signo white gel pen, and India ink Pitt brush pens on this piece, and the reference photo I used with permission from Kathy Herndon, a wonderful photographer of birds and other wildlife in the south eastern United States. This drawing is for someone with a strong sense of humor, who loves birds, and a source of inspiration and conversation. Ideal artwork for any living or working space.

Ink, 8 x 10", drawn with artist grade materials on Strathmore toned gray acid-free mixed media paper. The drawing is signed by me, JC Little, on the front and has the title and date on the back. I will include a certificate of authenticity with this drawing. It will be packaged with an archival sleeve, with stiff cardboard backing on both sides, and bubble wrap mailer. To avoid waste, where ever possible I will re-use mailers and other packaging materials. It’s recommended to frame it behind glass, with an acid-free matte, to preserve the drawing from deterioration. Display away from direct sunlight.
